The SCA serves as the liaison between the student body at NHS and the administration. Representatives meet with the administration to implement and/or change school policies, advocate for fellow students, and ensure that NHS is safe and productive environment for all. The SCA sponsors all homecoming events, including the annual pep rally, parade, coronation of the court, and the homecoming dance. In addition, the SCA participates in various community service projects, including the Angel Tree, disaster relief, reading to elementary students during Read Aloud America and Read Across America Day. Within Our School, the SCA provides money and other assistance to students or faculty that had severe illnesses, disasters, and deaths in their families; and provide services to the upcoming eighth graders at both orientation days and the parent meeting.
