Library Policies

Library Hours:

The NHS Library is open Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The NHS Library is open during both lunches (except Wednesday, 1st lunch).
Please see Ms. Christle if you need extra library time to work on a class assignment.

You must have a pass from your teacher to be in the library.
Please sign in when you arrive and sign out when you leave.
If you are using a computer, please check one out from Ms.Christle or a Library Assistant.
Make sure Ms. Christle signs your pass when you return to class.

You may check out 3 library resources at a time.
Check out period is two weeks, overnight for Reference sources.
Flash drives are available for check-out, but are for day use only.
Digital cameras, digital video recorders, and other specialized AV equipment are available for student check out provided it is for a class project. See Ms.Christle for more information.

Overdue fines are issued every Wednesday during 3rd block.
Fines are $.05 per item per day. Fines do not exceed $3.00 per item.
Even if you have returned the overdue item, you still need to pay the fine.
Be on the lookout for Library Fines Grace Days during Teen Read Week in October and National Library Week in April.
Also, during the Thanksgiving and holiday seasons, you can bring in a canned food item in lieu of your fine. All donated food is given to local food shelters.
